The teams have been working in some tricky conditions to control the vegetation growth on the side of dam embankments. The steep slopes with loose surfaces can be a real hazard to team members and even more of a risk if trying to cut vegetation with chainsaws.
To avoid these risks, we used our remote-controlled mower fondly known as the slope mower around the depo. The slop mower is tracked machine with a flail mower attachment at the front designed to get in and out of areas that would otherwise pose a problem to standard machines and manned teams.
Austin and his crew have been working on the dam embankments for the past few months and all their, and the slope mowers’ hard work is about to come to end.
